Teen Traffic Fatalities Reduced With the Help of TellTaleDriver.com

Maple Ridge, BC (PRWEB) January 14, 2009

Most of the mistakes your teen will make are harmless. Unfortunately, that’s not the case when it comes to driving. Teen drivers are inexperienced, impulsive, easily distracted, and in the absence of parents, most likely to speed and least likely to wear seat belts.

The graduated licensing programs throughout the country have had a positive impact, but despite numerous restrictions including zero blood alcohol thresholds inherent to these programs, more than one third of young drivers fatally injured in crashes, were impaired.

In addition, excessive speed was reported in almost half of all driving infractions where a fatal crash occurred involving young drivers.

Now, for just over $ 0.27 a day, a new service by Tell Tale Driver enrolls the support of the entire community to keep an watchful eye on their young drivers. When parents, neighbors and friends come together to share information, wonderful things happen.

Here’s how the program works. Similar to the “How’s My Driving?” decals seen on the back of many commercial vehicles, Tell Tale Driver provides a special decal to parents that is applied to the rear of the teens vehicle. The decal has a unique ID# that is requested when an “unsafe driving report” is made on the toll-free hot line. When a report is called in, the actual voice message from the caller is sent by email to the parent, to be listened to on their computer. With this information, the parent can deal with the situation appropriately to help instill safer, smarter driving practices.

Additional resources available are:

1.Driving Contracts: Parents are encouraged to formally enter one of our driving contracts with their young driver. This contract opens discussions regarding driving safety, and helps determine expectations and consequences for negative reports.

2.Defensive Driving E-Course: This includes a 7 day driving course emailed to the subscriber along with support videos to teach safe driving practices.

Together with the driver training, contracts, and “How’s My Driving?” decal and monitoring service the teen driver is better educated on safe driving, has expectations clearly defined and knows the community is watching and will reports unsafe driving.

To help expand the reach of Tell Tale Driver, we have created a generous profit sharing affiliate program. Schools and organizations can promote Tell Tale Driver as a fund raiser. Individuals can profit by promoting the program to their network of contacts. See details at http://www.TellTaleDriver.com/affiliate.htm

The Tell Tale Driver service is available in the United States and Canada.
